Odesa Sea Port rescuers have received new protective equipment purchased at the expense of the port's stevedoring companies

The Odesa branch of USPA officially handed over a batch of the purchased equipment to firefighters.

Due to the increased missiles and drones strikes on port infrastructure facilities, including the production facilities of stevedoring companies in the Port of Odesa, the management of a number of port operators decided to assist the port authority in improving the logistics support of the fire service. Thus, due to the joint efforts of the partners, with the participation of the branch management and the trade union of the Odesa Sea Port, sets of high-quality protective clothing, helmets and special fire boots HARVIK for all rescuers were purchased, as well as separate radio stations, group lights and a compressor for filling firefighters' breathing apparatus with compressed air.

- The purchased equipment will significantly enhance the protection of the health and life of port rescuers while performance of their duties, improve the efficiency of actions to eliminate fires and accidents throughout the territory of the Odesa seaport, – commented the port representatives.

As a reminder, on September 25 last year, a fire broke out in the building of the Odesa Hotel as a result of a massive russian air attack on the Passenger Complex facilities. Thanks to the quick actions of the fire brigades on duty, they managed to prevent thermal deformation of the reinforced concrete frame of the building and save the hotel from complete destruction. The professional and courageous work of the port firefighters during the liquidation of the consequences of the air strike on the infrastructure facilities of the Port of Odesa was recognized by the management of SE "USPA" and was separately noted by the President of Ukraine.
