The Odesa Sea Port held an ecological event dedicated to the World Environment Day
In order to raise environmental awareness and develop the environmental culture of port employees in terms of respect for the environment, the Odesa Branch of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (OB SE “USPA”) carried out a series of measures aimed at improving the environment in terms of gardening and landscaping the port territory.
The event was initiated by the Environmental Safety Department and the Youth Organisation of the OB SE “USPA”, with the support and active assistance of the port's stevedoring companies, and took place on 19-23 April.
- Careful attitude to the environment is what is called the social responsibility of an enterprise, - comments Nadezhda Shaposhnikova, Head of the Environmental Safety Department of the Odesa Sea Port Authority. – The issues of ecology and environmental protection have always been a priority in the port of Odesa, and such events have long been traditional. This year, the port employees planted their own plants, which will now decorate the port territory.
Employees of the fire safety service, information technology departments, coordination of port community entities, port fleet and others joined the campaign. Special gratitude should be expressed to the employees of stevedoring companies: Prista Oil-Ukraine LLC, Novolog LLC, UNSC LLC, Ukrelevatorprom LLC, Novotech Terminal LLC, and Brooklyn-Kiev LLC, who joined the campaign.
