81st Anniversary of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939–1945
Dear Port Workers,
Today, we commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939–1945.
On this day, we pay our deepest respects to the Ukrainian people, who made a significant contribution to the defeat of Nazism and rightfully stand among the co-creators of the Great Victory.
We are particularly proud of the port workers of Odesa, who, during the heroic defence of Odesa in 1941, demonstrated extraordinary strength of spirit, courage and self-sacrifice. Many of them gave their lives for the sake of future generations.
Today, as then, the port workers of Odesa stand in defence of their homeland: some are on the front line, defending Ukraine with arms in their hands, while others ensure the uninterrupted operation of the port, fulfilling their duty under challenging and dangerous conditions.
We bow our heads in solemn remembrance of all the fallen heroes.
We express our sincere gratitude to those who endured the most difficult times, overcame the trials of war and succeeded in rebuilding the country from the ruins. We extend our special and profound gratitude to the generation of port workers who, in the post-war years, devoted themselves to restoring the Port of Odesa, bringing it back to life and laying the foundation for its further development.
With respect,
The Odesa Branch of the State Enterprise «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority»
