The Odesa Branch of the State Enterprise «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority» Hosted Another Donor Day
Traditionally, the initiative was organized by the Odesa Branch of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and the port's Medical and Sanitary Unit, with blood collection conducted by specialists from the Odesa Regional Blood Transfusion Station.
The summer months are traditionally accompanied by a decline in the number of blood donors due to the holiday season and hot weather, resulting in shortages of blood components. At the same time, the demand for them remains high and, amid the full-scale war, has become particularly critical.
- Donated blood is needed every day to save lives. Today, every donor makes an important contribution to supporting the healthcare system and helping those who require blood transfusions. I would like to thank all employees who took part in this initiative, — said Zhanna Putiienko, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Chief Physician of the Medical and Sanitary Unit of the Odesa Sea Port Authority.
Holding Donor Days at the Odesa Branch of the “USPA” remains an important social initiative that unites employees around a common cause — helping people.
