The management of the Odesa Branch of SE "USPA" held a working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, headed by Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Joop Nijssen

The visit was initiated by the Dutch side as part of its working trip to Odesa and marked an important milestone in advancing the cooperation established under the Memorandum of Understanding between the ports of Odesa and Rotterdam, signed in March this year. The Memorandum outlines strategic areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening the resilience of port infrastructure, introducing modern solutions, and facilitating the exchange of expertise.

During the meeting, the Acting Head of the Odesa Sea Port Authority Dmytro Nazarenko and representatives of the diplomatic mission discussed promising areas for future cooperation.

In particular, the parties explored the potential involvement of Dutch private companies in the reconstruction of Odesa Port's infrastructure, which has sustained significant damage as a result of russia's military aggression against Ukraine. They also discussed opportunities for investment in the development of the port sector, ranging from strategic planning to the practical implementation of infrastructure projects.

"Today, international partnership is not merely declarative – it delivers tangible results. The implementation of the arrangements between the ports of Odesa and Rotterdam, together with our direct dialogue with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, opens up new opportunities for joint development projects at the Port of Odesa. We are grateful to our Dutch partners for their continued support and their readiness to move forward with concrete initiatives," said Dmytro Nazarenko, the Acting Head of the Odesa Sea Port Authority.

As part of the visit, the Embassy delegation also toured the Odesa Port Passenger Terminal. Volodymyr Bakhchyvanzhi, Deputy Head of the Odesa Branch of SE "USPA", briefed the delegation on the port's operations under martial law, the functioning of the Maritime corridor for Ukrainian exports, and the challenges posed by the ongoing systematic attacks on port infrastructure.

International cooperation remains one of the key priorities for the development of the Port of Odesa. Partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands demonstrates how joint initiatives and the support of international partners help ensure the stable operation of strategically important port infrastructure even under wartime conditions.
