70 million tons of cargo have been transported through the Ukrainian corridor
Since the launch of the Ukrainian maritime corridor, 2577 vessels have successfully proceeded via this route.
In total, 46,7 million tons of agricultural products have already been delivered to 48 countries, emphasizing efficiency and importance of this transport route for global food security.
"By reaching the milestone of 70 million tons of cargo, transported through the Ukrainian corridor, the Ukrainians clearly demonstrated their resilience. It shows our ability to find innovative solutions even in the most challenging conditions. Each and every vessel that passes through this corridor is not just an economic success, but a symbol of our fight for the basic UN principle of freedom of navigation. We continue to work on expanding the corridor's capacity, ensuring maritime safety, and supporting global food security," emphasized Yurii Lytvyn, CEO of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority."
Ukrainian Corridor in Numbers:
September 16, 2023 - the official start date for handling of the merchant fleet and cargo within the Ukrainian corridor. It is the day when the first commercial vessels, RESILIENT AFRICA and AROYAT, passed through the Ukrainian corridor to load cargo at the ports of Big Odesa.
Record cargo: The bulk carrier "Captain Leonidas" set an all-time record, transporting 190,000 tons of metallurgical products. This vessel not only became the largest by size but also carried the maximum tonnage in the corridor's history.
Peak activity: On February 18, 2024, the highest number of vessels passed through the corridor in a single day—40 ships. Of these, 16 departed from Ukrainian ports, while 24 called at for loading.
Global impact: Thanks to the functioning of the corridor, Ukrainian products have reached 48 countries, highlighting Ukraine's crucial role in ensuring global food security.
