Environmental safety training conducted at the Odesa Branch of the SE «USPA»
To strengthen environmental safety within the waters of the Port of Odesa, the Environmental Safety Department of the Odesa Branch of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority» organized and conducted a series of practical training sessions.
As part of the exercises, procedures outlined in the Ship Waste and Cargo Residue Management Plan were practiced. In particular, participants worked through the actions required from a vessel crew during the reception of liquid pollutants from a ship berthed in the port.
Additionally, practical training was held on the containment and cleanup of potential oil spills and other harmful substances within the port waters. A modern skimmer designed for surface water cleaning was used during these activities.
These training sessions are conducted in accordance with the enterprise’s environmental management plans and programs, and are aimed at improving personnel readiness and response in the event of possible emergency situations.
