According to the Law of Ukraine "On Sea Ports of Ukraine", the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority is assigned functions, including ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and carrying out work to eliminate the consequences of pollution of the territory and water area.
- monitoring (observation and control) of environmental quality indicators
- a set of measures to prevent possible pollution and to localise and eliminate the consequences of pollution of the water area and territory of the Odesa Sea Port
Environmental management system
The Administration of the Odesa Sea Port has implemented and operates an environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2015 "Environmental Management System - Requirements and Guidelines for Use", the national standard of Ukraine DSTU ISO 14001:2015.
ECO PORTS
In order to support the environmental initiative of the European port sector on the greening of port operations, the Administration of the Odesa Sea Port has joined the strategy of sustainable development "Green Ports" (Green Ports).
Currently, the Administration of the Odesa Sea Port has joined the EcoPorts community, which allows for the exchange of experience between European ports, raising awareness of environmental safety requirements and improving the existing environmental management system.
